UHC Day 2025: Welcome to UHC Day updates!
Hi UHC advocates! Universal Health Coverage Day 2025 is fast approaching, and we are back with some helpful tips to make your campaigning and advocacy a success.
Last year we gave you a step-by-step guide for campaign planning for UHC Day. This year we will bring you more practical advice to use your voice to advocate for UHC and have a greater say in government decisions about your health.
What is social participation?
It’s as simple as this: the people who use health services should get a say in how they are designed, funded and delivered. Social participation for universal health coverage is when individuals, communities and civil society organizations work with governments to shape health policies and hold decision-makers accountable. When we all have a seat at the table, we can build health systems that truly respond to our needs.
Why does it matter for universal health coverage?
Our aim is “health for all” – and to achieve that, all voices must be heard. Getting communities involved makes services more equitable, accessible and people centered. Meaningful participation helps ensure no one gets left behind, and it starts with your voice.
How can you get involved?
You’re in luck! That’s what we will cover in this series over the coming weeks. Each week we will bring you a practical step you can take, along with resources you can lean on to advocate and participate in the push for UHC in your country. To accompany this series, our annual UHC Day Toolkit will provide you with all the materials you need to build your own campaign, hit the socials, or reach out to your local decision-makers.
Together we can show our leaders that the best decisions for health start by placing the voices and needs of populations at the center.
Subscribe today to be first to receive all the latest UHC Day updates. And remember – your voice is powerful!
